More about acute perforated appendicitis

The appendix is an organ that projects down from the colon on the lower right side of your abdomen. Appendicitis is the inflammation of the appendix. Appendicitis can cause pain in the lower right side of your abdomen. The pain becomes more and more severe as the inflammation increases. Appendicitis can occur in people between the ages of 10-30. Surgical removal of the appendix is the standard treatment protocol for inflamed appendix or appendicitis.  The inflamed appendix can get ruptured causing perforated appendicitis if not attended to. As the appendix ruptures, the entire fecal matters accumulated inside the small and large intestine burst out into the abdomen through the appendix opening. This makes our body trigger an inflammatory response that tries to prevent the spread of abscess within our body.
